“Strength that has effort in it is not what you need; you need the strength that is the result of ease.”— Ida Rolf

Rolfing® Structural Integration, developed by Ida Rolf, is a method of working with the body that focuses on how its structure relates to gravity. Rather than addressing isolated symptoms, Rolfing® looks at the body as a whole—organizing its segments and relationships to support greater ease, balance, and efficiency.

The Ten Series is an integrative, ten-session recipe that systematically works through the whole body and its relationships, supporting better balance, ease of movement, and long-lasting embodiment.
-
The Ten Series sets the foundation, and integration continues the work through the body’s natural process of absorbing and organizing the changes made. After the Ten Series and integration, ongoing sessions can be tailored more efficiently to your unique system, addressing specific goals and challenges while supporting continued positive transformation.
“When the body gets working appropriately, the force of gravity can flow through. Then, spontaneously, the body heals itself.”—Ida Rolf
Session One—Adaptability & Breath
We begin by freeing the respiratory diaphragm and expanding your breath capacity. Increasing your breath capacity encourages better whole-body awareness and serves as a key player throughout the entire series.
Session Two—Supportive Feet
Session Two establishes how the body meets the ground. By improving the mobility of your arches, ankles, and toes, we build a stable and adaptable base for your legs and spine to move more efficiently.
Session Three—Front-to-Back Balance
This session works up the lateral (side) line of the body, balancing the front with the back. Functional goals include freeing the arms and shoulders, mobilizing the hips, and improving the relationship of the pelvis to the ribs.
Session Four—Pelvis Adaptability
Here, we focus on the deep midline of the legs and their connection to the pelvis. By releasing the internal pull of the legs on the pelvic floor, we create a more adaptable base that better supports your entire torso.
Session Five—Organizing Core
This session explores the abdominal region and the front of the spine. We work to balance the relationships between your legs, spine, ribs, and pelvis, building a sense of core strength that feels integrated rather than forced.
Session Six—Back Line
We focus on bringing length, mobility, and ease to the entire back of the body. Working from the soles of the feet to the crown of the head, this session releases the long-held tension that can pull us out of alignment.
Session Seven—Head Balance
We organize the neck and head to sit effortlessly atop the spine. By relaxing the deep muscles of the neck and jaw, we help the head feel lighter and better connected to the rest of the body.
Session Eight—Targeted Integration
A customized session designed to revisit either the pelvic or shoulder girdle. We prioritize the area of the body that requires the most attention and refinement at this stage of the process.
Session Nine—Complete Circle
Address the opposite girdle (pelvic or shoulder) from the previous session. Together, Sessions 8 and 9 resolve unfinished structural patterns to bring a sense of wholeness to the body.
Session Ten—Whole-Body Integration
The final session brings everything together. We work with the body as a whole to lock in the changes from the series, giving you the awareness and tools you need to stay feeling balanced and moving well.
